About Junk Removal Decatur

We are a Decatur junk removal crew. We do the lifting, loading and hauling for homeowners. Then we sort each load so usable items get donated, metal gets recycled and only the rest goes to the landfill. Every job starts with a free on-site estimate and a price you see before we lift anything.

How We Work on a Job

We look at the job before we price it. During a free on-site estimate we judge how much of the truck your items will fill. We also check the path from where they sit to the curb. And we note anything that needs special handling, like a refrigerator that still holds refrigerant or a shelf of old paint cans in the garage. You get an upfront price with no hidden fees, and there is no obligation to book.

Most of the cost in junk removal comes from volume, weight and access. A sleeper sofa coming down the narrow, steep stairs found in many older Decatur bungalows takes more time than the same sofa sitting on a ground-floor patio. Concrete, tile and roofing shingles are dense, so a small pile can weigh as much as a truckload of furniture. We tell you which of these is driving your price, so the number makes sense.

On the day of the job, we pad door frames and banisters. When we carry through your home, we lay runners on the floors. We take apart a bed frame or sectional only when it will not clear a doorway as one piece. Once the load is out, we sweep the spot where it sat and pick up any loose debris from the driveway or yard.

What Guides the Work

Sorting before the landfill

Usable furniture and household goods go to donation. Steel and aluminum, such as water heaters, grills and washer cabinets, go to scrap recyclers. Old TVs and computers go to electronics recycling. The landfill gets what is left.

Straight answers on what we can take

Some items have disposal rules. Refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners hold refrigerant that has to be recovered before the metal is scrapped, so we route them to facilities that handle that. If something is outside what we can haul, we tell you on the phone, before anyone drives out.

Working with the weather

Georgia humidity turns cardboard boxes soft and musty in a damp basement. It also leaves clay yards slick after a summer storm. We bag crumbling boxes before we carry them, and we keep the truck on pavement instead of rutting a wet lawn.

Only what you point to

We walk the space with you and confirm each item before it goes on the truck. If you are keeping a dresser in a room full of discards, we work around it.
