Junk Removal in Decatur, GA

We haul away the mixed piles your home collects: old mattresses, broken patio sets, boxes of paperwork, a dead treadmill. Our crew does the lifting, sorts each load for donation, recycling or disposal, and quotes the price before anything goes on the truck.

Two workers load junk into a box truck on a suburban street; one pushes a strapped washer on a dolly past a trailer and piles of black trash bags beside brick homes.

What Our Junk Removal Covers

General junk removal is for loads that don't fit one category. A spare room with a futon frame, a rolled rug and six bags of clothes. A side yard with rotted fence pickets and a rusted grill. You point, we carry it out, and you don't lift anything.

The work is mostly sorting. Upholstered furniture, particleboard and mixed plastics go to the landfill. Steel, aluminum and copper go to scrap. Clean wood furniture, working lamps and usable housewares can go to donation. Splitting a load that way keeps disposal fees down, and that savings shows up in your price.

If your job is mostly one thing, our furniture removal, appliance removal and garage cleanouts pages go into more detail. Not sure which fits? Describe the load on the phone and we'll tell you how we'd handle it.

What Every Haul Includes

  1. 01

    Pickup Right Where It Sits

We bring items down from the attic, out of a back bedroom or out from under the deck. You never have to drag anything to the curb first.

  2. 02

    Breaking Down Big Pieces

Sectionals, bed frames and swing sets often won't fit through a 30-inch interior door in one piece. We take them apart with hand tools rather than forcing them and chipping the trim.

  3. 03

    Pulling Out Reuse and Scrap

Metal goes to scrap and usable goods are held for donation. Only items with no other place to go end up at the landfill.

  4. 04

    Protecting Floors and Doorways

We lay runners on hardwood and pad tight corners before any heavy piece moves. Older homes have original oak floors and plaster walls that dent easily, so this step matters.

  5. 05

    Cleaning Up Afterward

Once everything is out, we sweep the floor or rake the spot in the yard where the pile sat.

Signs It's Time to Call for a Haul-Away

  • A Room You've Stopped Using

When a guest room or bonus room has turned into storage you walk past, it's no longer working as part of your home.

  • Items Too Heavy for Two People

Sleeper sofas, solid-wood dressers and old console TVs can weigh 150 pounds or more. Moving them on stairs without straps and a dolly is how backs and banisters get hurt.

  • Piles Holding Moisture Outdoors

Cardboard, mattresses and upholstered chairs left under a carport soak up Georgia humidity and summer rain. They grow mildew and draw roaches and rodents within a few weeks.

  • A Move, Sale or Estate Deadline

Closing dates and lease ends don't move. If a house has to be empty by a set day, a scheduled haul is faster than multiple runs in your own car.

  • Too Much for the Curbside Cart

Your regular trash service won't take a couch or a broken bookcase. Bulky items need a truck and someone to load it.

What Happens on Job Day

  1. 1

    Call and On-Site Look

Phone us and tell us what's going. We visit for a free on-site estimate with no obligation, checking the items, the stairs and the route to the truck.

  2. 2

    Price Before Lifting

You get a price tied to the truck space the load fills, before anything is picked up. Because pricing is upfront with no hidden fees, the figure stays put once work begins.

  3. 3

    Load and Separate

Our crew covers the floors, breaks down pieces too big for the doorways, and loads so scrap and donations stay apart from landfill items.

  4. 4

    Sweep and Deliver

After sweeping the cleared spot, we take each part of the load where it belongs: the scrap yard, a donation center or the transfer station.

What Goes Into Your Price

Most of your price comes from the truck space your load takes up and what it costs to dispose of it. Labor and access are added on top. You see all of it in the estimate before we start loading.

How Much There Is
A few items fill one small corner of the truck, while a whole room of furniture can take up most of it. Volume counts more than any other factor.
Type of Item and Disposal Costs
Tires, mattresses and appliances with refrigerant carry extra handling or recycling fees. Under federal rules, refrigerant in a fridge or freezer has to be recovered before the steel goes to scrap. Loads with lots of metal or donatable goods usually cost less to dispose of.
Access and Carry Distance
A pile beside the driveway loads quickly. A dresser coming down the steep, narrow stairs of a finished attic, common in older bungalows, takes longer and more people.
Disassembly
Big sectionals, playsets and built-in shelves must be taken apart before they can be carried out, and that adds time.

Junk Removal FAQ

Do I have to be there when you come?

For the estimate it helps, so you can point out what goes and what stays. For items outdoors, like a pile beside the shed, we can usually handle the job without you once the price is agreed. We'll settle that on the call.

Are there items you won't take?

Some things are household hazardous waste, such as oil-based paint, solvents, pool chemicals and fuel cans. We point these out at the estimate so nothing surprises you. Empty cans and dried latex paint can usually ride on the truck.

How fast can you come out?

Same-day and next-day service is available, based on the size of the job and our schedule. Call us and we'll give you the earliest opening near you.

Do you work outside Decatur?

Yes. Along with Decatur, our trucks regularly run to Avondale Estates, North Decatur, Druid Hills, Scottdale and Clarkston. Our service areas page has the complete list.

What makes your crew a safe choice?

We are licensed and insured, and we have been hauling junk here since 2021. You can read over 1,200 Google reviews to see how earlier jobs went before you call.
